🚀 SingleInterface Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience

I recently interviewed for a Senior Software Engineer role at SingleInterface, Gurugram, India.
📝 Application
I found the opening on LinkedIn and reached out to the recruiter via the contact mentioned in the post. The recruiter discussed my experience, current responsibilities, and compensation expectations. The first interview was scheduled on the same day.
📞 Round 1 — Low Level Design
⏱️ Duration: 60 minutes
This was an elimination round focused on LLD.
I was asked to design a Review Management System.
The discussion covered:
- Functional requirements
- Classes and relationships
- UML diagram
- Strategy, State, Factory and Singleton patterns
- Interfaces and abstractions
There was no coding. Most of the time was spent designing the classes and UML. The interviewer was friendly and his approach was well-structured.
✅ Result: Hire
I received the result roughly an hour later and was moved to the final round on the same day.
💻 Round 2 — High Level Design
⏱️ Duration: 75 minutes
The interviewer first asked about my previous projects and my favorite project.
Then I was asked to:
- Design a Rate Limiter
- Explain how Netflix resumes video playback across devices
I was familiar with the concepts, but I found the overall interview experience uncomfortable. The interviewer joined around 10 minutes late, kept their video off throughout the interview, and communicated primarily in Hindi while I was communicating in English, without checking my language preference. I also found the overall communication style unprofessional and rude, which affected my interest in the role and subsequent discussions.
