College : Tier 1.5

Current Experience : 4 years and 10 months at MNC

A person from Oracle contacted me. He was not a recruiter instead he was a tech team member of the team I was interviewing for.
He told me there will be 3 rounds and all of the rounds were elimination rounds.

Round 1 Feedback - positive:

Lots of C++ questions regarding (Around 40 minutes)-
Class
Templates vs Function Overloading
OOPS concepts
Some Questions related to string internals
Internal implementation of unordered vs ordered map
Internal implementation of vector -> internally size allocation, Optimization, reserve vs resize etc,
etc.

Very basic DSA question of checking string palindrome

Answered almost all of the questions. Interviewer seemed satisfied.

Round 2 Feedback - positive:

2 DSA questions - 1 medium and 1 hard
LRU Cache
Basic Calculator

I was able to solve both the question within 1 hour optimally. Was able to solve 1st question within 20 minutes and 2nd question in about 35 - 40 minutes.

Manager Round 3 Feedback - positive:

Asked me to rate myself in C++ and then lots of C++ questions -
Some String questions
If there is one static variable in header file and another in cpp file, can we do this?, what is their scope? (Could not understand the question clearly so could not answer this clearly. I understood later on what he was asking)
Asked me to write code for singleton class.
etc.

Gave me 1 hard DSA question, specified linear time and constant space (I would call it a medium if you know cyclic sort else difficult to arrive at constant space solution)
First Missing Positive

Then asked me my notice period, expected salary. Had 5-10 minutes discussion around salary as I did not share my current CTC.

I asked him about the team structure and product.

Verdict

Did not receive any callback for 2-3 days. Called the person who contacted me first. He told me to wait for early next week.

I called him early next week. He said the feedback is positive but we have yet to decide between 2-3 candidates.
Dropped him a text again to let me know the results. He said the manager confirmed that they are moving ahead with another candidates.

So frustrated right now. Even after completing all the rounds with positive feedback received rejection.
