Round1: Concurrency, was asked about basics of concurrency, mutex, lock, semaphores, task scheduling in operating system.
I chose python, so the interviewer asked about the reason of my choice. He asked if I've ever used any typed language, I said yes C++, he asked if I was comfortable in c++ of python, I said python.
He then asked me about advantage of pyton/c++ over each other. I answered them correctly (I believe)
Then I was asked to write code for a task scheduler.
def submit(task):
pass
submits a task and returns without waiting
def block_until_finish():
pass
blocks the main thread from which this is called and
only returns when all the tasks are finished.I messed up big time here, as I was completely stuck, and this question was quite new to me.
It appears he was basiclly asking me to implemet thread.start and thread.join. I panicked and
didn't do well. Gave some answers along the lines of queue, and the interviewer tried to help, but in the end it seemed he was not satisfied. As expected from every recuiter in Indian ecosystem, my point of contact stopped picking up any call and after 4 days I was sent a rejection mail.
Anyone knows how to solve this question btw, thanks.
