Recruiter reached out to me on linkedin for open position.
YOE : 1.5 years
Round 1(Phone Screening) : HR asked basic questions about my Tech Stack, why switch and expected CTC
Round 2 : It was informed by HR that it would be a DSA / System Design question but it was Core Java deep dive round where i was asked about
- how does print hello world work internally inm java?(from running the code till we get the console output)
- how do we lock method in java?(wanted to ask regarding synchronous )
- what is thread pool excecutor in java?
- how does thread pooling work?
- tell me internal implementation of hashmap(i kind of blew my chance here as i didnt explain it well of this but i knew 80%)
- how do we handle collision of keys in hashmap ( said collision would not be possible XD, idk why i said it maybe because i was kind of nervous and unprepared)
- finally comes the DSA question -> find frequency of element in an array -> solved
- further followup with constraint-> sort element on basis of frequency using stream and lambda function (although i was able to solve this using a new array and then custom sorting it but interviewer was hesitant on that specific approach only)
Verdict : Rejected
Question to experienced folks out there .. do all companies ask this rigourously? and deep dive on any topic that i mentioned in intro or resume?
or was i not prepared well enough?
any suggestions or question are welcome :)
