I recently gave system design round at Arista Networks. Post the first round I asked the HR poc to schedule the round after 2 weeks as I had no clue about system design which they gladly agreed to. Now coming to the actual interview, there were zero questions related to system design. It was similar to my first round which was mainly C++
- Given a class with virtual functions, predict the output and size of the class object and explain why.
- Given an integer array, write the address of some random element as the base address + some offset.
- Write a function which accepts two unsigned char variables and returns the sum of them as as unsigned integer (you should handle the logic of carry overs)
I went blank at the final question, and asked the interviewer for an example output so I could understand the problem but he was reluctant to provide any. Got the rejection email couple of days later. This round went on for an hour.
