Completed all rounds for SDE-II Backend position at Zepto (I have 3.5+ years of experience).
Round 1(31st August 2024):
I was asked to solve the following coding problems:
- Best Time to Buy and Sell Stock (https://leetcode.com/problems/best-time-to-buy-and-sell-stock/description/)
- Combination Sum II (https://leetcode.com/problems/combination-sum-ii/description/)
For 1st question complete solution was required and for 2nd question only pseudocode was required.
Got a call for LLD round the next day
Round 2(8th September 2024):
I was asked to design a system for managing customer orders and deliveries in a quick commerce platform. You have to come up with your requirements. Then the interviewer added few more requirements:
- Structuring the system to manage customer orders, inventory, and deliveries.
- Designing a system to handle order prioritization for fast delivery, especially during peak times.
- Handling different payment methods such as credit cards, digital wallets, and cash on delivery.
- Ensuring data security and compliance with relevant e-commerce regulations.(This was optional, interviewer said only if we have time left then we will discuss on this).
The interviewer wanted class diagrams, API design and Databse design. He also asked which design patterns you will be using and at last asked which DB(SQL or NOSQL) will you used for each component and why?
Both rounds were conducted by Bar Raiser Company and lasted for 1 hour each.
Got a call for Hiring Manager round after 2 days
Round 3:
Was scheduled for 16th September but half an hour before the interview, got a mail from interviewer that he has some urgent meeting and he will not be able to take today's interview. He said recruiter will reach out to me for other slots.
Reached out to recruiter, asked him to reschedule the interview, he said he will check the slots and reschedule it. Approximately 2 hrs back, got an updated invite from the recruiter for 20th September.
Again got rescheduled to 26th September.
Round 3(HM Round - 26th September 2024):
The discussion went for 55 mins approximately. He basically wanted to know my past projects and experiences. He asked me the HLD of previous company. Also, he asked 2-3 projects in details. He cross-questions on few things. There was some standard HM round questions as well like Why Zepto?
TA team has asked some documents from me to proceed further.
Round 4(HR Round - 30th September 2024):
HR just wanted to check the background details like where I am staying and all. Asked some standard questions like why Zepto? Also, asked me which app you prefer for quick commerce Blinkit, Zepto or Instamart.
3rd October 2024:
Received an offer from Zepto for SDE2 Backend position.
