Application Process:
Applied via referral, got a call from recruiter within a week.
Initial Connect:
HR called me and told that my application was shortlisted. He checked my current experience and other standard HR background verification questions.
Was asked for my expected CTC.
I was told that its a hiring drive happening for an org.
Round 1 (Technical):
This round involved solving 2 DSA problems, questions on Spring Boot, databases, Design principles and Kafka
I dont remember the DSA questions but they were leetcode medium and popular questions. Few questions that i remember are as follows:
- Write spring boot application for getting employee object when /api/v1/employee is called. Had to code it in my editor of choice and start the application.
- persist vs save in hibernate
- Cross join in database with example
- Explain SOLID principles with examples
- Kafka specific questions since JD had Kafka.
Round 2 (HM round):
- Questions on current project architecture.
- Current project deployment lifecycle.
- Questions on Terraform since I told I have worked on it.
- Junit and Mockito related questions.
- Discussion on how transaction happens when we swipe card. He first asked me if i know what happens after a card swipe to which I answered vaguely from whatever I remembered from Alex Xu's article. Later he himself patiently explained.
- Around 3 - 4 standard managerial questions.
Verdict: (1 week later)

HR scheduled Salary Negotiation Round a day later.
Thoughts
Rounds were properly organized and Communicated. HR was in constant touch with me just before the interview briefing me what topics to expect and after the interview on when i can expect the results. Overall entire process was smooth and well communicated.
