Oncampus placement at IIT.
First, there is an OA consisting of three questions- first question is easy, second was of easy-medium type and third one was bit difficult one and has heighest weightege.
Whoever has done >=2 questions were shortlisted for interview.
Interview Rounds:
Interviews were in online mode (on MS teams).
Round1:
- Questions related to project
- Q1-Question finally comes down to - Given two sentences (lets say previous_sentence and current_sentence of length n words and m words)- each sentence has many words. some words were removed from previous_sentence and some new words are added(some words may be same as removed but are added at different postions), as a result of these operations, current_sentence is obtained. We have to tell which words are removed and which words are added. The question finally reduced to finding minimum number of addition and removal of words. ( in best possible time and space complexity)
- Q2 - We have an array A of size n. we say array is good, if we can find three indices i<j<k such that A[i]>A[k]>A[j]. We have to check if array is good or not. ( final solution should be in O(nlogn) time and O(n) space)
- For both these questions, Interviewer also asked variations of these questions.
Round2:
-
Questions regarding internal structure of hashmap, then about collision and how to reduce collision without changing the hash function but can change internal structure of hashmap( time complexity can be increased but better than O(n) in worse case ). Few more questions related to hashmap.
-
Some simple operating system concepts- semaphore, mutex locks, difference between them, virtual memory, context switch.etc.
-
DSA Question: we have a n cross m matrix. For example
0 0 x 0 0
x 0 0 0 x
0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 x 0
0 and x are all people, x- denotes people infected with diease and 0 denotes healthy people. On each day. the infected person will infect all its neighbours(left, right, up, down). We have to determine minimum no of days after which whole population is infected. -
Advice - For technical rounds, while answering DSA questions , start from basic appraoch that you can think of while also explaining each part. Then try to improve it. If approach is wrong, interviewer will give some anti example or will tell you. Also if interviewer thinks that the complexity(either time and space) can be further improved, he will ask you to improve it or you can ask about limits on variable or allowed complexity.
Round 3 (HR round):
-
Tell me about yourself
-
Why you choose JEE and 'This' college
-
Tell me about an incidence where you faced an obstacle and what you did to overcome this.
-
Tell me about an incidence where you feel like a failure and what you learned from it.
-
Tell me about an incidence where you have to work in a team and your teammates aren't putting any efforts and how you handled the situation.
-
Why you want to join sprinklr.
-
What do you know about this role (Product engineer).
-
Tell me about your two strengths and two weaknesses.
-
Tell me about your acheivements and what your friends thinks about your acheivements.
(There were some more questions , I don't remember but most of them were followups to these) -
Advice - Be yourself in HR round as the interviewer can ask follow up questions.
