In a moment of desperation, I submitted an application to IBM, despite knowing that they give change for a salary. My starting base as an SDE-1 was 24 LPA, with a ctc of 26 LPA, but I was affected by layoffs and had to accept a lower offer from an NFT startup after waiting for 8 months.
After applying to IBM, I got an online test link, which I completed in 25 mins. I applied, but found out later that I wasn't accepted.
Is this some kind of joke? I got it done in 20 minutes, but I took the time to reformat and comment the code in the off chance that someone would actually read it. Do I need to get more than 100% or was I supposed to solve it in 5 mins or something?
After waiting 10 days, I checked my application status and saw that it had been rejected just 2 days after the test. I never even got an email telling me that I had been rejected.
Why send me a link to an online test if they have no intention of moving forward? Is this the way IBM operates? I have no f*cking idea.
Instead of applying to subpar employers, I plan to hone my DSA skills and look for work again after I've 2 YOE.
P.S. This is my first post, please don't make it a reddit
