I took the Amazon assessment yesterday and wanted to share my experience with the community.
- Coding Question – Finding the Minimum Cost
longest consecutive sequence of equal values.
It required careful analysis of the problem statement, especially the cost calculation and edge cases.
- MovieDB – User Watchlist
I also worked on a MovieDB project task involving a user watchlist built with Java Spring Boot and React. The task focused on identifying issues in the existing implementation and figuring out how to fix the backend watchlist functionality.
It involved looking at the API endpoint, authentication, and how the user's watchlist data should be retrieved.
Bugs needed to be solved :
- email validation
- password length validation
- movies added to the watchlist must show up in the actual watchlist.
(you had to pass 6 test cases i remember only 3 at the moment )
Overall Experience
The assessment was a good reminder that understanding the problem thoroughly is just as important as writing the code. Testing edge cases and managing time also made a difference.
