I recently went through a team-matching call for an L3 role at Google.
The call lasted around an hour. The hiring manager asked me only 3 questions:
Tell me about your experience
How do you use AI in your work?
What are you looking for in a manager?
I asked 8+ questions about the team, role, expectations, projects, etc., and the discussion felt pretty positive and went for around 1 hour.
It has now been 2 weeks since the team-match call, and I haven't received any update from the recruiter.
For people who have gone through Google team matching recently:
Does this usually mean the team is still deciding / discussing internally?
How long did you wait to hear back after your team-match call?
Am I rejected by the team?
