GoodScore Interview Experience: Cleared DSA & LLD, Received Congratulations Mail, Then Ghosted. A Similar Experience Shared by Others
Round 1: DSA
Question 1: Dynamic Programming (1D) based on bit manipulation — Medium
Question 2: Dynamic Programming (2D) — Number of numbers that can be formed using (2^x), (3^y), and (5^z) that are divisible by a given number. I don’t exactly remember the complete question, but it was medium-hard.
I solved both questions in around 30 minutes without any hints, and the interviewer seemed impressed with my performance.
Round 2: LLD
The task was to design a task queue. Again, the interview was conducted by Hiring Dog.
The interviewer didn’t really care about FRs, NFRs, discussions, clarifications, etc. He mainly wanted to see working code. After I completed the coding, he asked a few follow-up questions.
I was confident that I would crack the interview.
After the follow-up, two weeks later, HR told me that there would be no further rounds and that they were debriefing with the founder about my performance.
Two weeks later, I received a congratulations email from HR asking me to submit my offer letter and payslips from my current employer. She also said that she would roll out the offer letter by the evening.
Then came two weeks of ghosting.
Finally, I received the familiar message:
“We have decided currently not to move ahead for SDE’s role. In future if we decide to open the role, we will connect with you first. So sorry for last minute change.”
Seems like this is a pattern, as there are a lot of posts describing similar experiences in GoodScore interview reviews.
Also, in my experience, employees were not very responsive on LinkedIn and were difficult to reach over the phone. The overall communication felt quite poor and dismissive. Based on this experience, it left me with concerns about the company culture.
