Fortanix DevOps Interview Experience

Sharing my interview experience here so that other people don't waste their time like I did.

Interview process had 4 rounds:

Round 1:
Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, CI/CD and 1 Easy-Medium DSA question.

Round 2:
Kubernetes, container orchestration, infra automation and 2 Easy-Medium DSA questions.

Round 3:
HR round – basic HR and culture-fit questions and Salary Discussion.

Round 4:
Senior EM / Final round – Linux, Git, Kubernetes, Docker, production issues, service failure troubleshooting, RCA and 1 DSA conceptual question.

The technical rounds were good and they went quite deep into real production scenarios. One of the main things they asked was how I would debug a service failure from container level down to Linux, find the actual root cause and fix it.

But the problem starts after the interview.

After clearing all the rounds, HR completely ghosted me for 3+ weeks.

I sent multiple follow-up emails but got no proper response or update. Basically, communication was through email and there was no clear status.

After waiting for more than 3 weeks, I finally got a generic rejection email.

No proper feedback.
No proper update.
Just a generic rejection after making the candidate wait for weeks.

My advice: Prepare DSA along with DevOps/SRE because coding is part of the process. Also prepare well for Linux, Kubernetes, Docker and real production troubleshooting.

And most importantly, DON'T stop your job search just because you cleared their rounds. Keep applying and keep other opportunities active until you have the offer in writing.

Technical interview: Good.
Recruitment process: Totally disappointing and a complete waste of time, in my experience.
