Amazon SDE-1 FTC Offer Concerns and Questions

I recently completed the interview loop for an Amazon SDE-1 FTC (Fixed-Term Contract) role and am expecting an offer.
I’m currently working at a Service-based company and have around 4.5 years of experience, with a current CTC of ₹7.5 LPA.
I’m a bit conflicted about whether I should accept the Amazon offer if I receive it, and I’d appreciate some insights from people who have experience with Amazon FTC roles.
My questions are:
- Are FTC employees treated the same as permanent/FTE employees, except the Compensation?
- What is the quality of work assigned to FTC employees? Is it comparable to the work given to FTEs, or are FTCs generally assigned less desirable or lower-priority tasks that FTEs are not willing to take up?
- Is there a possibility of being converted to an FTE after one year? If so, what is the approximate conversion rate?
- If Amazon announces layoffs or there is a headcount reduction in the team, what happens to FTC employees? Are FTCs typically let go before FTEs, and can an FTC contract be terminated before its agreed end date in such situations?
Any insights from current or former Amazon FTC employees would be greatly appreciated.
