Location: Gurugram (Onsite)
Result: Offer Received ✅

Interview Process (3 Rounds)

Round 1 — Android Fundamentals + AI (60 mins)
Topics: Architecture patterns (MVC→MVVM journey), ViewModel internals, Activity lifecycle, Kotlin basics (val/var, String pool, lateinit/lazy, Singleton), Coroutines API call pattern, Memory leaks, LeakCanary internals, AI tools discussion, MCP servers

Difficulty: Medium
Tip: Know your production stories. LeakCanary internals (WeakReference, forced GC) impressed the interviewer.

Round 2 — Deep Android + Design (78 mins)
Topics: MVVM architecture design on screen share, where to call API in ViewModel, ViewModel survival mechanism, Kotlin Flow (StateFlow vs SharedFlow, backpressure), Jetpack Compose internals (slot table, recomposition), Performance optimization, Memory management

Difficulty: Medium-Hard
Tip: Interviewer pushed deeper on every answer. Self-correction under pressure is valued.

Round 3 — System Design + HM (75 mins)
Topics: Mobile system design (cart, filters, real-time features), Project deep dive, AI tooling discussion, Behavioral questions

Difficulty: Hard
Tip: Know your projects deeply. Be honest about technical debt — it's a strength at senior level.

Compensation
CTC: 22 LPA (20 fixed + 2 variable)
Hike: 3.6x jump (from 6 LPA to 22 LPA)
Benefits: Medical insurance, Group Personal Accident Coverage

Tips

  • Production experience matters more than bookish knowledge
  • Self-corrections during interviews are green flags
  • AI discussion is now a standard round component
  • Know the WHY behind every architectural decision

Edit: Modified the compensation section to include the 3.6x jump details.
