Recently I was apporached by some outsourcing firm for an Senior Team Lead opportunity with payTM and Grey Orange.
I had a very bad experience with management and would like to share some pointers if anyone is having similar opportunity via an outsourcing firm
- First things first never fully trust an outsourcing POC words about the interview process. They are given very little to no info about the client hiring process.
- This happened to me multiple times where process was different than what was discussed
Grey Orange
- For Grey Orange, outsource mentioned first round being DSA and problem solving. Given this was at the start of my job hunt, I was only focused on DSA and not system design(here I fumbled)
- To my surprise it was HM round with HLD
- Fumbled real hard here partly thanks to such wonderful outsourced recruter :)
PayTM
- Here call was scheduled for a 30min talk with HM about past experience, role and company
- To my surprise, it turned into 1hr call with system design(again!!! FAAAH (T_T))
Moral of story: Always be prepared to discuss anything no matter what the recruiter says. This specific case I have only noticed with mid level firms so far.
