Visa SWE Interview Experience | Waiting for Update
Hi everyone,
Sharing my Visa interview experience for a Software Engineer role. I'm currently waiting for the final update after the Hiring Manager round, so I wanted to check with others who have gone through a similar process.
My Interview Process
Round 1 – Online Assessment (OA)
The process started with an Online Assessment (OA) consisting of 3 coding questions to solve.
Round 2 – Technical Round 1
The first technical interview focused mainly on DSA and problem-solving, along with questions related to my current work and projects.
Round 3 – Technical Round 2
This round was more detailed technically.
It mainly focused on system design, where I was asked to design a system and then faced in-depth follow-up questions around the design, architecture, database choices, scalability, APIs, and trade-offs.
The discussion was more about understanding the reasoning behind the approach rather than just giving an answer.
Round 4 – Hiring Manager / Director Round
This round was mainly behavioral and team-fit focused. I was asked around 4–5 behavioral questions, covering areas such as:
- A challenging situation I faced
- How I handled a difficult situation
- Team collaboration
- Handling disagreements / different approaches
- Ownership and responsibility
Overall, the interview experience was quite positive. The interviewer was friendly and the discussion felt more like a conversation than an interrogation.
I followed up with HR two days later, and HR told me that they need around two weeks to get back with an update.
So currently I'm waiting for the final result.
My Question
For people who have recently gone through the Visa India SWE interview process:
How long did it take for you to hear back after the HM round?
Also, if you received an offer, how long did it take from the final HM round → HR update → offer discussion/offer letter?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through a similar Visa process recently. Thanks!
