JioStar SSE Interview Experience

I recently completed the interview process for a Senior Software Engineer (SSE) role at JioStar. Sharing my experience in case it helps others preparing for the process.

YOE: 4
Current TC: 30 LPA

Round 1 – Low-Level Design (LLD + Coding)

Problem: Multi-Floor Parking Lot

  • Designed a scalable object-oriented solution.
  • Defined the class blueprint, relationships, and responsibilities.
  • Implemented the core classes and functionality in code.
  • The discussion focused on OOP principles, extensibility, and clean design rather than just getting a working solution.

Round 2 – High-Level Design (HLD)

Problem: Design Ticketmaster

  • Designed a ticket booking platform similar to Ticketmaster.
  • Covered functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Discussed architecture, scalability, database choices, caching, load balancing, concurrency, and handling high booking traffic.
  • The interviewer also asked about trade-offs between different design decisions.

Round 3 – Hiring Manager (HM)

This round primarily focused on behavioral and standard hiring manager questions, including:

  • Previous project experience
  • Technical ownership
  • Handling challenging situations
  • Team collaboration and conflict resolution
  • Leadership and decision-making
  • Career goals and motivation

Overall, the interview experience was positive, and the interviewers were friendly and interactive.

Need Some Insights

I completed all the interview rounds, including the Hiring Manager round, about a week ago.

The third-party recruiter (profile sourcer) informed me that the interview feedback was positive. However, I haven't received any communication from the JioStar hiring team regarding the next steps or the offer process.

Has anyone who recently interviewed with JioStar experienced something similar? How long did it take to receive an update, offer letter, or further communication after the HM round?

Also, based on 4 years of experience and a current TC of 30 LPA, what would be a reasonable compensation expectation to quote to the recruiter for an SSE role at JioStar?

I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experience or any insights. Thanks in advance!
