Meesho | Interview Experience | SDE-1

Continuing my interview experience series, this one is from Meesho.

📍 Company: Meesho
📅 Interview Date: January 2025
💼 Role: SDE-1 (Full-Stack)

I applied through the company's career portal and was shortlisted for the interview process.

Round 1 — Problem Solving

Unfortunately, this interview turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences in my interview journey not because of the questions, but because of technical issues.

From the beginning, I was facing significant network connectivity problems, which made communication with the interviewer difficult.

Despite the interruptions, the interviewer proceeded with the round and asked me to solve a problem involving:

  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Designing classes
  • Implementing a Cart and Checkout System

The problem itself was interesting and tested both design and problem-solving skills. However, due to repeated disconnections and communication gaps, I couldn't perform at the level I had prepared for.

As the interview progressed, the connectivity issues continued, affecting both the discussion and implementation.

Final Result: No Hire

Key Learning

This experience taught me something that has nothing to do with DSA, JavaScript, or System Design.

Your interview environment matters just as much as your preparation.

No matter how much effort you've put into preparing, factors like:

  • Stable internet connection
  • Proper audio setup
  • Backup network options
  • A distraction-free environment

can significantly impact the outcome.

While this opportunity didn't work out, it reminded me to always have a backup internet source and be prepared for situations outside my control.

The journey continues.
