Yardi Interview Experience for Software Trainee (Fresher Hiring)

From my understanding, Yardi does not usually hire freshers directly. Instead, they often conduct recruitment drives through partner institutes, where candidates can participate free of cost.

Selection Process

1. Group Discussion (GD)

The first round was a Group Discussion. This was the most competitive stage, with approximately 95% of candidates getting eliminated.

2. Online Assessment (OA)

Candidates who cleared the GD received an online test directly from Yardi.

The test consisted of 45 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into two sections:

  • Reasoning Aptitude: Basic logical and analytical reasoning questions.

  • Technical Section: Questions based on Computer Science fundamentals and role-specific topics such as:

    • .NET
    • SQL
    • Software Testing

3. In-Office Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates were invited to Yardi's office for interviews. The entire process took almost a full day due to the large number of candidates, but the company provided food and snacks throughout the day.

Pre-HR Round

This round included basic questions such as:

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • Family background.
  • Why are you interested in this role?
  • Career goals and expectations.

I am not completely sure whether candidates were eliminated in this round, but I believe some screening took place.

Technical Round

The technical interview lasted around 20–40 minutes, depending on the candidate's role and resume.

Topics covered included:

  • Data Structures and Algorithms (mostly array-based problems)
  • SQL concepts and theory
  • Writing SQL queries on paper
  • Role-specific technical questions

In my case, a significant portion of the discussion focused on SQL. The interviewer started with basic theoretical questions and then gradually moved to query-writing problems.

Managerial Round

Candidates who cleared the technical interview proceeded to the managerial round. Unfortunately, I was not able to clear the technical round, so I do not have much information about the final stage.
