Recently i appeared for wells fargo senior software engineer role. I applied through their career portal.
There were total of three interview rounds for me.
First or OA round:
90 mins hackerrank round covering java springboot backend development, SQL, Kafka and microservice knowledge. This was a good composed round. Now a days org are shifting to this type of test from typical DSA questions.
Second round:
Two senior engineers were there. They did not introduced themselve but from voice i pretend them one was senior developwe while other was manager.
It started with introduction then moved to my current project and contribution. Then they asked below question:
One design question where are three services already built exposing there api, we have to build a system which can call all three services, get the documents, aggregate those and persist to db for clients. We have to handle it end to end including failures. I was able to design it there was cross in design which i was able to answer including circuit breaker pattern, asyn api calls using center api orchestrator, dead letter queue, scaling, CQRS pattern or db read replicas extra.
Third round:
It started with introduction. She was hiring manager. Then she jumped to my current project architecture, i explained my project e2e using a white board, she raised question but i was able to answer. Then she asked below question.
Then she jumped to one coding question where given a Employee pojo class list find the max salary but using java stream only.
In the end, few behaviour questions like what would you do if you are new to the team and tech lead is not helping, reason for switch extra.
Final verdict: Selected
I forgot few scenario based questions from each round but those were easy which i dont remember now.
