Applied for the JPMorgan Chase SDE-2 role in December. 3+ years experience as java full stack developer
Online Assessment (January)
2 medium-to-hard coding problems.
Strong focus on optimized solutions, time complexity, space complexity, and edge cases.
Superday Interview (Early May)
Got the invite at the end of April for 3 back-to-back rounds.
Round 1 – DSA + Code Review
Rate limiter coding problem (medium-hard).
Code review exercise where I had to identify issues and fix the implementation.
Round 2 – High-Level Design
The toughest round.
Given a sales application built as a monolith.
Asked to redesign it into a microservices architecture.
Discussion covered service decomposition, caching, load balancing, API gateway, scalability, and geo-location-based caching.
Round 3 – Behavioral
Standard STAR-based questions around projects, ownership, challenges, and collaboration.
Received a shortlist confirmation call within 3 days and the offer letter followed shortly after.
After accepting the offer:
Background Verification (BGV) and onboarding process started.
Joining date was provided roughly a month after the interview.
Around 20 days after BGV completion, I had a team-matching discussion with two managers. The discussion was mostly around my tech stack, projects, and previous experience. The level was similar to what you'd typically see in Infosys/TCS/Wipro managerial discussions rather than another deep technical round.
