Hi everyone,
I’m a 2021 ECE graduate who has had an interesting journey across both industry and technical training — and now I’m looking to transition back into software development.
Here’s a quick snapshot of my journey:
Started at NCR Corporation as a Production Developer & Quality Engineer
Moved into IT at HCL Technologies as a Java Full Stack Developer
Took a short break (~2 months) for upskilling and clarity
Transitioned into teaching as a Senior Technical Trainer (Java, DSA, Full Stack)
Currently working at Gradious Technologies
💡 Over the past couple of years, while training students, I’ve:
Strengthened my core fundamentals (Java, DSA, problem-solving)
Explained complex concepts in simple ways (which improved my depth of understanding)
Stayed hands-on with coding and real-world scenarios
🎯 Now, I want to move back into a Software Development role—to build scalable systems and grow as an engineer.
🤝 I’d love to hear from this community:
How do recruiters view a trainer → developer transition?
What matters more at this stage: DSA vs Projects vs System Design?
How can I position my teaching experience as an advantage?
Any tips to stand out in interviews after a career shift?
