I'm currently exploring opportunities and would appreciate some compensation insights for a Staff Software Engineer (Golang) role at Zscaler, preferably for the Bengaluru location.

My profile:

• 5 years of experience

• Backend/Golang-focused engineer

• Current TC: ₹28 LPA

  • Base: ₹25 LPA
  • Variable: ₹3 LPA

• Recently received a verbal offer from another product-based company in Hyderabad for approximately ₹45 LPA TC

I'm trying to understand:

1. What TC range can I realistically expect for a Staff Software Engineer at Zscaler with ~5 years of experience?

2. How is the compensation typically structured?

   • Base salary
   • Annual bonus/variable
   • RSUs/stock grants
   • Joining bonus (if any)
   • Relocation bonus(if any)

3. What would be considered a strong offer versus an average offer?

4. If I'm already at a ~₹45 LPA competing offer, what range would make sense to target during negotiations?
