Currently I’m in the phase of my first switch and wanted some insights regarding salary negotiation and offer handling.

Background:

• NIT CSE graduate
• 2 YOE at a startup
• Have given around 3–4 interviews so far

I had a few questions:

• How should I approach salary negotiation during the first switch?
• If I accept an offer letter and later get a better opportunity during the notice period, can I decline the earlier offer professionally?
• Any common mistakes to avoid during negotiation or while serving notice period?

Would appreciate any practical suggestions or experiences from people who’ve gone through a similar phase.
