IBM ASE OFFLINE ROUND EXPERIENCE | May 2026 | 2024 - 2025 Batch

Hi Everyone,

I applied for the Associate System Engineer role through the careers page and received the SHL English Assessment invite within a month.

After clearing the SHL English online assessment, I got the result after around 10 days. Later, I received a mail for an offline drive on 9th May, inviting me to attend the process on 14th May at 8:30 AM.

The instructions were clear:

  • Upload the required documents on the portal
  • Carry the original copies with you
  • Also take resume copies with you and passport size photos extra

Offline Process

Around 250 students were invited for the drive.

Coding Round

The coding round was conducted in their computer lab on the HackerRank platform with AI proctoring.

  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Number of questions: 1

The question was based on Strings and was of Easy-Medium level. However, it was quite lengthy with multiple subparts that needed careful understanding before solving.

The topic of the question I received was:

  • Fixed Sliding Window
  • HashMap

There were around 2–3 different questions distributed among students.

After the coding round, only 30 students out of 250 were selected for the next stage.

The selection criteria were:

  • You had to pass at least 6 out of 10 test cases to move forward.

Document Verification & Interview

After that, all 30 selected students were called for document verification, and interviews were conducted side by side.

The interview was pretty straightforward.

The interviewer mainly asked questions based on my resume, so make sure you only mention things you can confidently talk about.

I was asked about:

  • My internship experiences
  • A palindrome coding question on pen and paper

The interviewer did not ask many technical questions in my panel, though it may vary for others.

Some HR questions asked were:

  1. Are you okay with relocation?
  2. Are you comfortable working in shifts?
  3. Why IBM?

For now, I’m waiting for the results.

Hope this helps future candidates. All the best!
