Amazon OA | SDE-II

I recently gave the Amazon OA for SDE-II role. It had:

  • 1 coding question
  • 1 issue-resolution/debugging task in a codebase using the AI assistant

I was able to solve both completely.

However, I have one doubt regarding the second section.

I fixed all the issues mentioned in the acceptance criteria, and all related test cases were passing successfully. While exploring further, I noticed another possible issue and started trying to fix it. During that, I added a log line but may not have completed or removed it before submission.

After submitting, I realized that if that incomplete line was still present, it could potentially cause a compile/runtime issue.

So now I’m wondering:

  • Does Amazon evaluate only against the required acceptance criteria/tests?
  • Or can such accidental incomplete changes negatively impact the evaluation even if the main requirements were solved correctly?

I also completed the design/behavioral section afterward.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how this section is evaluated?
