The interview was quite different from the usual DSA-heavy rounds. There were no coding questions in my round. The discussion was mostly around backend engineering, distributed systems, production workflows, and testing practices.
The interview started with introductions and a discussion about my current team and the projects I’m working on. From there, the interviewers deep-dived into architectural decisions, async systems, testing approaches, deployment workflows, and how production issues are handled in real systems.
Major focus areas were:
event-driven systems
service communication patterns
testing strategies
production debugging
Kubernetes/AWS workflows
CI/CD and deployment practices
handling scale and failures
code review and engineering collaboration
The discussion was very practical and scenario-driven rather than theoretical.
