Hi Leetcoders,

I recently had a phone screen interview at Google (based in Warsaw).
It consisted of 45 mins of coding round + 45 mins behavioral (Googliness) round, all in one day.

The behavioral round went smoothly and I got a positive feedback from it.

The coding round started with a warmup question (the interviewer did not explicitly mention its a warmup, but he made it clear we will have some follow ups after it).

Unfortunately, it took me a lot of time to understand the problem and I got hung up on some implementation details more than I should have. I won't share the exact problem, but the optimal solution involved implementing subsets (backtracking). I was able to code it up, answer follow-up questions, discuss time and space complexity, but it took me whole 45 minutes, so we did not have any time left for another question (which apparently was supposed to be the main one).

It was confirmed in the feedback, that they cannot pass me because I spent all the time on the warmup question, however since I solved it correctly and communicated it properly, they are willing to give me a second chance for a coding round.

I don't know how it will go, but I am already really happy to get this chance, it is my 4th attempt and in all previous attempts I was not even able to come up with a brute force solution.

So, if you are or were in such a situation, keep it up, we will get there!
