Hey everyone,

Need some honest advice from folks here.

I have ~3.7 YOE as an SDE (Java backend) and recently got an offer from Google for an Application Engineer (L3) role.

Offer details:

• Base: ₹24 L
• Bonus: 15%
• RSU: $32.5K (4 years, ~38% first year) (~₹11 L)
• Joining Bonus: ~₹3 L

Current situation:

• Current base: ₹27 L (WFH)

My concerns:

1. AE vs SDE

   • Is moving from SDE → Application Engineer a downgrade in long term?
   • Does it affect switching later to product/backend roles?

2. Internal tools

   • Work is on internal systems (not user-facing products)
   • Does this reduce learning / resume value?

Need Advice on taking the decision, that I should accept or decline?
