COOL Down period for all FAANGS, number of tries, and different job posts

Hi,

I'm collating and updating this list as I'm getting feedback from either employees at said companies or fellow Leetcoders:

  • Facebook: 1 year (from first interview and same job -- no restriction for different job)
  • Apple: 6 months Cool-off period if fail onsite. Max number of attempts: None
  • Amazon: 1 year (from first interview and same job -- for all positions). Max number of attempts: None
  • Netflix: No Cool-off period
  • Microsoft: No Cool-off period (you can apply to multiple teams and interview in parallel). Max number of attempts: None
  • Google: 1 year from onsite, ( 6 months from Phone screen and same job -- no restriction for different job). Max number of attempts: possibly 3 max for onsites , unlimited for phone-screens (according to https://www.quora.com/How-many-times-can-you-interview-with-Google-1, can anyone confirm ? More recent posts appear to disagree: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-true-that-you-are-only-allowed-to-apply-to-Google-three-times)
  • Spotify: 6 months (from first interview)
  • Walmart: 6 months (from first interview)
  • Lyft: 6 months (from first interview)
  • Uber: 6 months (from first interview)
  • Oracle: 6 months (from first interview and same company branch: e.g. If fail Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) interviews you have to wait 6 month to reaply to any job within OCI, but still free to apply to non-OCI jobs within the 6 month Cool-off period).
  • Linked-in: 1 year (from first interview)
  • Tesla: 6 months (from first interview)
  • Twitter: 6 months (from first interview)
  • Snapchat: 1 year (from first interview)

If you have contradicting information to the list above please do mention it in the comments and i'll update the list accordingly.

If you the info is innacurate, please mention it in the comments and try to be as precise as possible:

  • Length of cool-off
  • From which stage does the cool-off apply (first stage:phone screen, or latest failed-stage: on-site)
  • Does this apply to the same position only, or for all positions? E.g. Can one apply as a Research Scientist (get rebuffed) and try straight away for another position as a Data Scientist or Software Engineer without having to wait for the cool-off period?
  • Is there a maximum number of attempts allowed ?
