Hi everyone,

I recently interviewed at eBay for the SE-III role. I have around 4.8 years of experience and previously worked at Amazon.

Interview Experience:

• OA (HackerRank): LLD-style question on designing APIs with some logic execution

• Round 1 (DSA):

  • Variation of Max Area of Island (full implementation + TC/SC + edge cases)
  • Trie-based problem for word search in a set of strings

• Round 2: Distributed Event Booking System (HLD discussion)

• Round 3: Hiring Manager round (projects + behavioral)

I’ve received positive feedback from the hiring manager. The recruiter mentioned that next steps (like document verification) would follow soon, but it’s been about a week now. In the last update, it was said to be in the director approval stage.

I had a couple of questions:

1. Does eBay usually take this long to roll out an offer?
2. How is the work culture at eBay (especially for backend/SE roles)?
