Cold applied to the role on their careers portal and got a call back from the HR.
Round 1
This was a round of 1 hour; mix of DSA, LLD and Python Internals understanding.
- Recursive function that reverses an input string. Follow up: write a custom decorator for this that prints the time taken by the recursive function.
- How would middleware be implemented in Flask? (They usually work with Django but they asked Flask since I have prior working experience with that)
- SQL query: Get the 5th highest salary from a given Salary table
- Implement a function to count from 1 to 100 without a for loop.
- Design a custom context manager.
- Given a list of
entries[]andsearchInput, return a list of top 3 words matched based on the input. (Trie for prefix search) - Design a FastAPI endpoint to return a paginated response given a query page and size, handle valid/invalid cases. (This was asked in another round for the same role months later.)
Conclusion
Rejected; due to poor performance with python decorator wrapping a recursive function and not enough time to implement the Trie.
