Recently did an onsite for Microsoft USA Hiring Event for SWE2.

Some of the Following questions that I remember-

Round 1 -

1. 20-25minsGeneral Intro and some questions took around 30mins diving deep into projects.

2. Question was an API reponse - interviewer stated that that I wouldn't expect you to finish this in remaining 30 mins. TC & SC discussed as well

3. I was able to present naive and better solution, seemed interviwer was satisfied. I was only able to finish up coding one requirement out of 4

4. Self reflection - Lean hire

Round 2 -

1. Same question : https://leetcode.com/problems/copy-list-with-random-pointer/description/

2. Presented the HashMap approach, interviewer was satisfied. Interviewer had follow up regarding how would I handle cycle? I followed up that existing hashing would work. Post that - interviewer asked for recursive solution - thought about an approach, needed a hint but interviewer was really happy the progress we made in the interview, along with TC & SC

3. Self reflection - Strong hire

Round 3 -

1. HLD system design : Design Instagram Feed

2. Interviewer was really happy with what I had on the board - asked some questions on SPOF and I answered all the follow ups.

Round 4 -

1. Same question : https://leetcode.com/problems/palindromic-substrings/description/

2. Discussed naive approach, TC and also presented the optimal approach with two loops. Interviewer asked to optimize it, and was able to do it.
