Intel | GPU Software Engineer | Bangalore | Selected

Application Process - I applied directly through the Intel Careers website and was contacted by HR to schedule the interview after my profile was shortlisted.

The interview process consisted of 3 rounds.

➡️ 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟭: CS Fundamentals (Duration: 60 minutes)

  • Focused heavily on Computer Science fundamentals
  • The majority of questions were from Operating Systems.
  • Some tricky Object-Oriented Programming questions. There were detailed discussions on concepts to test depth of understanding.

➡️ 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 2: DSA + CS Fundamentals (Duration: 90 minutes)

  • Discussion about my current role and projects.
  • Asked 2 DSA problems (both LeetCode medium level). The expectation was to explain the optimal approach, along with time and space complexity analysis.
  • There were additional questions on Operating Systems.
  • A few math/logic puzzles.

➡️ 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 3: Hiring Manager round (Duration: 60 minutes)

  • Deep dive into my previous experience
  • Detailed discussion on current and past projects
  • There were cross-questioning to evaluate depth of understanding of my work.
  • I answered the questions using the STAR method
  • Some real-world scenarios were discussed and how to solve them using a software-based approach.

Result – I received a call from HR informing me that I have been selected 🎉.

In all rounds except the Hiring Manager round, there were two interviewers.

✅ Tips for Intel Interviews

  • Intel places strong emphasis on CS fundamentals, especially Operating Systems. Be prepared for follow-up questions on every concept you mention.

  • Be very thorough with your current projects—the Hiring Manager discusses them in great detail.
