Intuit | SSE | Interview Experience | Cleared

Giving back to the community. Sharing my entire interview experience at Intuit
TPI
Asked to design a Genius bar (waiting queue) like apple for customers. There are regular and VIP customers.
Stage 1 - Serve VIP customers before regular customers
Stage 2 - Extend this to serve 2 VIP customers for each regular customer

Used two queues to serve customers. For stage 2 used a counter and updated logic to support use case

AI round - 20 mins
Asked basic AI questions
Where to use , where not to use

VIRTUAL ONSITE
Round 1 - Craft Code Demonstration -
User story 1 - Extend getplayers to support query param isAdmin , if true returns the last name of the player else skip it

Make sure to clarify requirements as they will purposely not share it upfront, they judge how good you are in designing an API and discuss edge cases before coding. Controller and Service Unit tests are a must so be really fast and prepared

User story 2 - Calculate player age , player birth details are provided
I missed the death details, so make sure to use those values if exist

AI story - Create a new API and generate player nickname based on their birth country using LLM integrating given. Use both SYSTEM and USER prompts with the CHAT controllers provided. Documentation provided for reference before interview.

Round 2 - Technical Round
Discussion around resiliency of players service, pagination, how will you support some biggest sport event, latency, fault tolerance, rate limiting, failover mechanisms. Lot of design related questions and focus is customer obsession

Round 3 - AI round
Some basic AI questions , and given time to finish AI story. Come up with a new API to create player nickname, think about parsing LLM response, timeouts, fallback scenarios.

Round 4 - Managerial Round
Manager was very kind, gave some breather time and asked few basic questions around current team structure, how do you resolve conflicts with team lead, how do you incorporate customer feedback. Gave all answers in STAR format.

Good luck to everyone!!
