The Process:
Recruiter Phone Screen: Behavioral + Basic Tech. (Cleared)
After Cleared the Phone Screen round they have conducted two DSA rounds
The Rounds & Exact Feedback:
Round 1: DSA (Binary Tree)
Problem: Binary Tree traversal/manipulation.
Performance: Wrote the code using DFS. The code was 100% correct.
Follow-up: Interviewer asked several questions. I wasn't very
confident in the answers. He asked me to optimize, I tried, but couldn't finish the optimization completely.
Round 2: DSA (Two-Player Game)
Problem: Game theory/Array logic.
Performance: I suggested DP immediately, but the interviewer said: "Go with simple brute force first."
Execution: Wrote the code, explained it clearly, and executed one test case line-by-line. Correct time/space complexity provided.
Follow-up: Optimized the solution as requested. Asked about coding standards and AI tools at the end.
After cleared the two DSA round they have conducted the remaining 3 rounds
Round 3: Googliness (Behavioral)
Scenario: Rescheduled multiple times. Discussion turned to Team Lead responsibilities.
The Conflict: The interviewer told me: "I don't think you understand exactly what I mean by Team Lead."
Closing Remark: I asked about AI at Google. He replied: "You will work with the best engineers in the world from IITs and NITs. They work on 2 to 3 projects at a time and you have to work the same... everything you will work or you have to work."
Round 4: Application Design (Mall Parking System)
Problem: Designing a parking system for a mall.
Performance: Defined Functional/Non-Functional requirements. Started the design, but ran out of time. I asked for 5 more mins, then 3 more mins to write the APIs.
Exact Feedback from Interviewer: "I don't usually give suggestions, but I want to give you one: You have more knowledge, but when you are answering, you are saying things very fast. Be slow and don't say two to three answers at a time. When you give more interviews, you will understand it."
Round 5: System Integration (Workday to Payroll)
Problem: Integrating Workday SaaS with a Payroll system for new hires/updates.
Performance: Defined requirements and design. Handled "what-if" situations.
Interviewer Remark: At one point he said: "I just want to know your thought process." At the end, he said it "went some good way." Finished the design and follow-up questions.
What are my chances of cleared Hiring Committee (HC) for L4?
