Hello everyone, I recently had my LinkedIn virtual onsite and I'd like to share my experience:

Recruiter reached out to me through LinkedIn inbox.

Setup for a 30 mins introductory call:

  • Self intro, walking through the process.

Technical Phone Screen:

  • Self Intro.
  • Tell me about a project that you’re proud of, most challenging part of it.
  • OS + CS fundamentals.
  • Symmetric Tree
  • Variant of Number of Islands

Virtual On-site:

Coding 1:

AI-enabled: was asked to implement a few methods for a social network; mostly graph related (BFS/ DFS/ Dijkstra's)

Coding 2:

  • Max stack
  • Follow up Qs regarding how to make this design work for multithreaded application.

Host Manager:

  • Self intro.
  • Motivation for joining LinkedIn, why LinkedIn?
  • Resume deep dives.
  • Standard behavioral questions.
  • Hypothetical scenario and how would you come up with a solution; this is up to the HM. My HM was a DB specialist, so he asked me questions regarding how to scale a DB and what not.

System Design:

  • Design a system which takes stream of linkedin posts and form a inverted index of all the words in the post. The user will query a list of words, you have to return all the post ids which contain all the given list of words. (essentially ElasticSearch in 50 minutes.)
