Interview Experience:
Rounds: 6 rounds focusing heavily on Distributed Systems, Cloud Architecture (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and DevOps/SRE principles.
Focus: They looked for "Architect" level thinking even for a Senior role. Heavy emphasis on system design and incident management.
Negotiation Strategy:
This was a tough negotiation.
Initial Lowball: They initially offered a standard hike.
The Strategy: I realized Roku is "Cash Heavy, Equity Light." Instead of fighting for more stocks (which are capped), I pushed aggressively on the Fixed Base.
The Result: Managed to get a ~87% hike on Fixed Base (from ₹45L → ₹84L). This is rare for 8 YOE, but possible if you prove you can handle "Staff" level responsibilities.
