It’s time to give back to the community, sharing my interview experience.

HR reached out to me over linkedIn for the opening and shared the OA link after me confirming the interest.

Round 1 (OA):
Three Leetcode coding questions were asked in 90 minute assessment. One Easy and two medium problem. I was able to solve all 3 problem.

After clearing the OA round, I got a email to the virtual Drive for 8th Nov.
HR confirmed that they will schedule the first 2 round of interview and after clearing these, third will be scheduled on the same day.

Drive Interview

Round 2 (Coding Round):
One Hard-level Binary tree question was asked. Intially there was confusion between myself and Interviewer on the problem statment and it took around 20 minutes to clarify all the corner and edge cases of the problem. After clarifying all the cases and dry running the solution, I implemented the solution and it passes all the test cases. But due to intial confusion we were able to only solve one problem in this round. Ideal expectation is to pick and solve atleast two problem in 1 hour.

Round 3 (LLD Round):
It was also a modification of leetcode hard problem. We discuss the intial design and interface of the solution and then implemented it. We solved this problem in 50 minutes but implementation was in python. Interviewer was looking for java solution. But I didn't had any expertise in java so he asked me to take a one time help of chatgpt but atleast implement the interface in java. I was able to do that as well. We wrap this round in 80 minutes.

Interviewer was really good and keep giving breadcrumbs whenever I was deviating from the solution.

After 1 hour, I got a call from HR that 3rd round is scheduled and I should be available for the call

Round 4 (HLD Round):
Interviewer first deep dived into my project, tech stack, scaling challenges, and etc. It went for first 30 minutes. Then he came up with an design question but due to time limitation didn't expect to have all the functionalities. So, I implemented it with limited functionalities. I was able to implement it in 20 minutes and he was satisfied with solution. So, we closed this round 10 minutes early.

3 days later, I reached out to HR for the status and she told me that I have cleared the first 3 round and there will be another round. Invite came 1 week later for AA round.

Round 5 (AA Round):
This round was divided into two parts. Intital 30 minutes was behavioural round. Then he asked to implement one of the internal feature of microsoft's customer onboarding project. I was able to implement it but he wasn't satisfied with the File-Service choices and keep deep diving into it. Time. ran out and we wrap the interview but he didn't look satisified.

After 4 days, I got another email to share the documents and 1 week later they came up with the final compensation.
