Recently, I got an opportunity to interview at GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGLE for the L3 role, and after a year-long journey, I finally received the offer! 😍💚

College: Tier 2.5 😅 (2023 passout, Non-CSE)
Current Org: CDoT (Research Engineer)
Experience: ~2.6 years

⚡ How It Started

A Google recruiter reached out via LinkedIn for an L3 role.
Of course, I said yes (who’d say no to Google? 😭💫)

Process Start: 28-Oct-2024
Offer Date: 28-Oct-2025 (yep, an entire year-long process 🎢)


☎️ Telephonic Round

Typical HR questions:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why do you want to switch?
  • Interest areas, project overview, etc.

🔍 Screening Round (Elimination)

Problems: 2 Array-based (LC Medium)
Time: 45 mins
✅ Solved both within time
Interviewer seemed satisfied.

All further rounds were non-eliminating and of 45 mins.

🧮 Onsite Round 1

Problem 1: Array + Math (Probability) — LC Hard
Problem 2: String — LC Medium
✅ Solved both within time
Self-rating: Lean Hire → Hire

💻 Onsite Round 2

Problem: Array-based + follow-ups — LC Medium → Hard
✅ Solved all
Self-rating: Strong Hire

🌐 Onsite Round 3

Problem: Graph + multiple follow-ups — LC Hard
✅ Completed all within time

💭 Final Thoughts

This journey taught me two simple lessons:
