Amazon SDE-2 Interview Experience

Process:

The recruiter reached out to me over call and also followed up via mail regarding the onsite interviews. Below are the questions that were asked from me. I don’t recall the exact Leadership Principles questions, but they were mostly generic ones that are commonly asked of all candidates.

Round 1 and 2 happened on 26th July and Round 3, 4 and 5 happened on 23rd August. Both the times it was onsite interviews only.

Onsite Rounds:

Round 1 (DSA / Problem Solving):

1. Serialize and Deserialize a Binary Tree
2. 2 Questions on Leadership Principles

Interviewer:- SDE 2
Self Verdict:- 3/5

Round 2 (System Design - LLD):

1. Design a Filtering System which can filter based on File Size and File Extension
2. 1 Question on Leadership Principles

Interviewer:- SDE 2
Self Verdict:- 3.5/5

Round 3 (DSA / Problem Solving):

1. Given a Binary Search Tree (BST), a floating-point target value, and an integer K, find K nodes in BST whose values are closest to the target.
2. Why Amazon?
3. 2-3 Questions on Leadership Principles

Interviewer:- Sr. SDE (SDE 3)
Self Verdict:- 4/5

Round 4 (System Design - HLD):

1. Design a Real-time Monitoring System
2. 2 Questions on Leadership Principles

Interviewer:- SDM
Self Verdict:- 4/5

Round 5 (Bar Raiser Maybe - System Design + DSA):

1. High Level Design of your Current Project
2. Find Median from Data Stream
3. 1 Question on Leadership Principle

Interviewer:- Sr. SDE (SDE 3)
Self Verdict:- 3/5

Result:

• Not yet shared by recruiter
• Assuming myself rejected based on the average performance of round 1,2 and 5
