I've got the following offer from PayPay Japan:

Education : B.Tech. Tier 1
YoE : ~6 Years(Product startups(recent), FinTech SaaS and FAANG)
Date of Offer : August 2025
Company: PayPay Japan
Title : Senior Backend Engineer
Gross Pay : 9 Million Yen i.e. 53.4LPA INR
Relocation : Relocation, air fare, stay will be provided for 6 weeks

I would have to move there and the office is in Tokyo, so I may have to live nearby Tokyo. It will be hybrid with atleast once a week from office depending on Team.

Can someone help in evaluating this? I feel that this is little lowball as I was making 47LPA + ESOPS at my last startup. Also, cost of living for Japan is 3-4x easily but the living standards are also high, so I don't think it will hurt that much.

Can someone working in Japan help me in evaluating this?
