I applied through job portal and recieved an online assessement on June - 2025. It had 1 medium and 1 hard question (I dont remeber the questions now) . I answered both the questions and there is one more leadership and principles test too.

I was contacted by recruiter on 1 August asking if I was interested for SDE 1(FTC) role at Amazon Bengaluru and the interview were scheduled on 6th August.Both interview were online and on same day.

1st interview:

I had never solved the problem before but I was able to solve it by the end of interview and also coded the optimal approach correctly. I checked question and solution after my interview and the solution was what I proposed so I thought it went great.
There were also some questions regarding Amazon principles and I did my best to answer them.

2nd Interview:
Question: Stock spanner problem leetcode word to word.

Even this problem was new to me but I came up with the approach and I asked follow up questions to interviewer since that person was young and inexperienced they made critical errors in answering my follow up questions and so whatever I was able to understand I wrote the code. I implemented the solution using stack but there were few changes needed for the code but again interviewer inexperience and not able to communicate properly I was misdirected and before I could make those minor changes the time was up .
Even in this round some Amazon principles questions were asked.

Result: Rejected

My takeaway:

I noticed for both the interviews they were asking design questions from leetcode so if you are preparing for Amazon FTC role prepare questions like design twitter, LRU cache etc .Questions where there is entire class and needs to implemented by you.

No matter how hard you prepare sometimes luck plays the role.I noticed while giving interviews at Razorpay ,Myntra that every round might have gone really great but there can be one ego maniac junior programmer or senior manager who can really turn the entire interview in negative direction so dont get demotivated maybe the position was just not meant for you.In razorpay interview I was mocked for being from service based company.

Anyways I was upset for a day but now I know better opportunies will knock and I am ready for them .Untill I will keep my head down and keep working hard. Thanks for reading my rant.
