The purpose of this post is not to disclose the exact questions but to help others keep informed about what are the recent trends in interviews at the aforementioned companies. By recent trends, I mean level of difficulty of questions, topics, and popularity.

Giving away exact questions would be an unfair thing

  • For interviewers who have to spend time to find and prepare questions to do a sound technical assessment of the interviewee's skills in a very limited period of time.
  • For those who work hard to prepare for the interviews and those who don't pass by this post. The ones getting the questions by this post may have an unfair advantage over others as mentioned.

Uber [Applied directly, received OA in 3 days, scored 56.67%, ghosted (rejected); Applied through a referral again using different email id, called up for phone screen without OA]

  • Phone Screen [DSA + Past expereince]: Sliding window in matrix [Working code provided with test cases] - LC Medium
  • Round 1 [DSA]: 0-1 BFS problem, Follow-up required Dijkstra's [Working code provided with test cases] - LC Medium
  • Round 2 [Design / Bar Raiser]: Proximity Service - Hard
  • Round 3 [Depth in Specialization, Backend]: A problem requiring composition and hierarchical modelling [Working code provided with test cases] - Easy to brute force, Medium to optimize
  • Result: Design round was negative, resulting in rejection

Coupang [Applied directly on careers site; was invited in a virtual hiring drive]:

  • Round 1 [HM]: Past projects, impact, situational questions [HM was not convinced on some answers]
  • Round 2 [DSA]: LC Medium stack + arithmetic based question - not only asymptotic optimal, but the best solution was expected. [Asymptotic optimal solution with working code and test cases provided, one edge cased was not handled but caught during testing, called it out, couldn't implement due to completion of time, verbally spoke the fix]
  • Round 3 [HLD]: E-commerce [Absolutely nailed it; the best amongst all]
  • Round 4 [LLD]: Design ATM functionalities [Interface, Classes provided; driver class was not implemented as time was over - so no working code]
  • Result: Ghosted [Rejected likely due to LLD/HM]
