Tesco India
Team - Customer Order Management(Checkout/Cart flow)
Role - SDE3
Location - Bangalore
3 days WFO
Annual Fixed Pay(including PF) = 69,00,000
Variable Bonus(20%) = 13,80,000
Gratuity + Insurance etc = ~1,70,000
Stocks = N/A
Joining Bonus = N/A
Total = 84,50,000

Roku India
Team - Ad Serving
Role - Senior Software Engineer
Location - Bangalore
4 days WFO
Annual Fixed Pay(including PF) = 80,00,000
Variable Bonus = N/A
Stocks = ~15,00,000
Joining Bonus = N/A
Total = 95,00,000

Compensation for Roku is higher than Tesco, but I am still considering Tesco's offer

Points into consideration:

  1. Stable Company(less layoffs) & Work Life Balance has more priority for me.
  2. Roku doesn't have regular appraisals, so if hike does not happen at Roku for couple of years, compensation for both will be comparable
  3. Reviews for Roku India are good but it has opened just around 1 year back & headcount has not reached to their planned number yet.
    Skeptical about Roku as their business doesn't seem very stable & reviews for Roku US is filled with bad work life balance, so afraid same would happen in India gradually as more work comes to India.
  4. Reviews for Tesco India are generally good in terms of Work Life Balance, but some teams have Work Life Balance issues.

Request for suggestions about which one shall I join?
Also please share how's the culture in Tesco's Customer Order Management(Checkout/Cart flow) Team in Bangalore?
