I recently completed my Google interview loop for an L4 position. Going into it, I felt well-prepared and confident. I had put in months of focused preparation, mock interviews, and coding practice.
recruiter called and said I had some strong rounds, the overall feedback was borderline.
Here’s a summary of the interview outcomes:
Phone Screen – H /SH
Solved the problem fully. Recruiter specifically mentioned the interviewer gave very positive feedback.
Onsite Round 1 – H / SH
Solved the problem completely without hints. Dry-ran all edge cases
Onsite Round 2 – LH / LNH
Very strange problem, solved with brute force approach, couldn't complete code
Round 3 – SH (Googliness)
I thought the conversation went well, but the recruiter mentioned that in one of the behavioral questions, my depth of experience didn’t come through as expected.
⚠️ Current Status:
The recruiter mentioned that they’re not going ahead with round 4(onsite)One more onsite round was planned, but due to one weak round, they’re not proceeding with it. Honestly, it feels heartbreaking — especially after putting in so much time and effort.
And honestly… I don’t know what to feel. I don’t know what to do next. After giving it everything I had — night after night of prep, all the sacrifices, the ups and downs — it’s tough to hear that one round can hold everything else back.
