I recently had the opportunity to interview at my dream company, Amazon, and I’d love to share my experience with the platform that played a crucial role in my preparation.
Round 1: Online Assessment (OA)

The OA consisted of:
2 LeetCode Medium DSA questions
Amazon Workstyle Assessment

Round 2: Technical Interview 1 - 17/1/25

Interviewer: Sr. SDE at Amazon (very humble and encouraging)
I was asked two DSA problems in this round:
Grid Maximum Sum Path
Given a grid with integer values, start from (0,0) and reach the bottom-right index.
Constraints: Cannot pass through negative values (they act as roadblocks).
Objective: Return the maximum sum possible while traversing.
Keys and Rooms(exactly same on leetcode)
This was followed by two Leadership Principles (LP) questions.

Round 3: Technical Interview 2 - 23/1/25

Interviewer: Sr. SDE at Amazon Alexa
Started with two LP questions
Followed by a matrix-based DSA problem
Expectation: Write optimal, modular code and handle follow-up questions.

Round 4: Bar Raiser Interview - 06/2/25

This round focused entirely on Leadership Principles (LP).
I was asked several behavioral questions and was expected to answer using the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
The interviewer did a lot of cross-questioning to evaluate my problem-solving and decision-making skills.
I felt I fumbled a bit in this round, but I stayed composed and answered to the best of my ability.

Verdict:

Five days after my final interview, I received a call from the recruiter with the greatest news of my career—I had received an offer for the SDE-1 role at Amazon! 🎉
This journey was far from easy—it required countless sacrifices, rigorous preparation, and sheer dedication toward my goal. Amazon has been my dream company since my college days, and seeing this dream come true is an indescribable feeling.
