Hey everyone, I will keep it short and brief because before appearing for this exam i didnt find may relevant answers regarding this exam, A little backstory, TCS conducts a codevita tournament which is meant for competitive programmers across the globe to come over participate and get a chance to win the prize money. There are two rounds to it, if you clear the first you get on to the second round. Now these questions are not by any means easy I was barely able to do 1/6 and got past the first round. After which i got a call from hr regarding this tcs tag exam which gives you an oppurtunity to interview for ninja, digital and prime roles over at tcs and join in as a fresher.

Now lets get into the details of this tcs tag exam, it was of 90 mins and had 2 questions. The first one was marked as easy and second was a medium.

The first question said that there were three items and the quantity of these individual items were mentioned and and adittional number n was given. Now we were tasked to print all the possible combination of these elements of length n in a specific sequence order. The time alloted for this question was 30 mins you cant move to second question before 30 mins and there was no submit button as such so the best score considering the number of testcases you passed both private and public would be considered. Also, their compiler is a bit weird you wont be able to your own prints for public testcases which makes debugging even harder. Now this question was a mere combinations variant i was able to do it in 7-8 mins but what suprised me was while i was looking around in the exam center was that many almost 90 percent of the candidates were not able to do this question even till end and these were the people who just competed and qualified in codevita.

Second question was an interesting one, so you are given an array of say n numbers now you have to make a fence which consists of two poles of equal length and your objective is to find the max height of this fence you can make. From the array of elements given you can join them into two disjoint sets of your choice and make a rod for the fence. time alloted for this question was 60 mins. Also the input of array was given directly as it is and the length of the array wasnt mentioned before hand so taking input was a bit strange but ok. This was again a med question that i was able to solve. so arr = [2 4 3 6] then ans = 6 because (2,4) and (6) would make a fence. Also the constraints for this question were not mentioned at all.

I hope it helps if you are to appear for this hiring exam in future, I havent appeared for any nqt test that tcs conducts so i have no way to compare the difficulty of the coding questions compared to that but that test too offers the same roles as this.
