Hi all,

Sharing my recent interview experience with google.

Experience: 1.5 yrs, Tier 3 college
Position: L3
Location: Bangalore

Phone Screening:
Question: About trees and islands with 2 follow-ups.
Initially thinking of a complicated solution, the interviewer prompted me to think of something simpler. I was able to solve everything on my own after that.
Personal Rating: Hire/Strong Hire

Onsite:

Round 1:
Question: About interns and flats. Greedy.
Did somewhat poorly; didn't ask an important clarifying question in the beginning. The interviewer pointed it out once I had coded my entire solution. Implemented a fix but realized a bug in that too. Rushed to write the correct solution in the last 5 minutes, managed to but sacrificed code quality in the process.
Personal Rating: Lean No Hire/ Lean Hire

Round 2:
Question: About intervals, difference array related. 2 follow-ups.
Got the idea almost immediately, solved everything without any assistance.
Personal Rating: Strong Hire

Round 3:
Question: About digits and subsequences with 1 follow-up.
Solved the original question on my own, required a small hint for coming up with the solution for the follow-up. The interviewer said coding it is not required even though 10 minutes were left, I'm assuming the follow up was just for brownie points.
Personal Rating: Strong Hire

Googlyness:
Situational questions, nothing special.

Around a week later, I was told that feedback is good and we are proceeding with team matching.

Team Matching:
After 10 days filled with nervousness, I was informed that a team matching call has been scheduled. Questions were about work, projects, and some HR type questions.
30 mins after the call I was informed team matching was successful, I received an offer 2 days later.

Pure Bliss.
